Color: Alberti as Color Theorist

February 9, 2010

My presentation on Leon Battista Alberti, most famous for writing De Pittura, (On Painting) (1434), a handbook for the Renaissance era artist, dealing with, notably, how to draw linear perspective.

He has a small section about color, mostly dealing with how to mix colors for the artist.

The last slide is my modern day version of his double pyramid color wheel, a feat of Photoshop for me.
