My favorite signage ever

November 11, 2010

Mevis & Van Deursen for Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen. This signage has been extraordinarily hard to find on the internet. As in, only the first picture from internet, the rest are obviously screenshots from their (well, his) talk for Walker, which I highly recommend. Things you need books for nowadays: pigeons, omens, and older Dutch designers.

Anyways, this signage system: this is all I want from life, actually. I just find it incredibly amazing and powerful and…. dare I say… moving? I really feel like it’s what I’ve been wanting all along, since the summer and the Russian weird subway photos which threw Edvin into horror (rare and hard!), since the whole chaordic design period. It’s better than Experimental Jetset signage for 104, which I loved.

So yes, these things probably have something to do with a newfound lust for signage systems. Which I know absolutely nothing about. The bigger the better, probably!
