Zambia logo

March 31, 2011

The B/W version.

A stylized version of a chitenge I found online. These chitenge seemed somehow very Zambia above many other crafts I’d looked at, though I am aware the chitenge are not in themselves produced in the country.

The chitenge:

Circles: influence by the chitenge, but also eyes (animals — safari), organic, patterns, pebbles, water drops, a sort of known area within the unknown. I worked a bit to make it a bit better formally (have not done that sort of vector work for a hot minute).

The circles are dynamic and changing; color is very flexible. Some examples with an older variation of the logo showing the direction I am thinking of. Have not yet finalized the colors yet.
