New Times Canyon poster

September 23, 2011

Love how this came out. The bar on top is a bit awkward, but I am in SHIP, SHIP, SHIP mode right now, did this in about 2 hours. Glad I decided to change the typeface. Times Canyon is still Helvetica, but for this angle, the tourism angle, a different typeface looks best. This is  inspiration: http://travel.nationalgeographic.com/travel/national-parks/vintage-posters/

Actually, the two most crucial parts of this poster are the typeface and the idea of “SEE AMERICA.” That part is really crucial and I’m glad it’s coming back in. This was always a mash-up between the two most famous things of America and a love song to it. There’s more context to why this poster is getting made, but I’ll go into that later.

times canyon, tourism, poster, times square, grand canyon
